I was born in the Fifth Ward. From Underwood to Thompson to Rogers, I’ve called Newport home my entire life. I attended URI and started Harvest Market in 2017, where the old Sigs Deli was, with the aim to promote local agriculture. Harvest runs with the motto, “Shop Local, Eat Local, Live Local.”

My family has deep roots in Newport – on my father’s side, we trace our roots back to William Coddington and Anne Hutchinson. My great-grandfather, Manuel, started Martins Brothers on The Point in 1936 and passed it down to my grandfather, Jack. My mother Ingrid moved here from Ohio and met my father Michael in a chance encounter at the Clarke Cooke House; my mother stayed, created Blue Rocks Catering and ran it for 25 years. She got to be present for a lot of the great moments in the lives of Aquidneck Islanders.

It was an honor to grow up in Newport. With my friends, I have the fondest memories of playing baseball at Hogan, roaming the town at night, spending summer days at Gooseberry Beach, and having neighbors who watched out for us. Those memories and the community that brought me up have made bonds with my friends that will last a lifetime.

I’m running to make sure locals still have a voice as time marches on and new generations step in. I’m 30 now and married Madeleine Grosvenor; we’re expecting our first child, a boy, in late November. I support local businesses; I want to work with my neighbors to find solutions to the problems that weigh on us – livability, housing, and keeping Newport a real community. I want to make sure this city offers my son the great childhood I enjoyed, and protecting its year-round families offers the best chance of that.

I look forward to meeting you during the campaign season and hearing your thoughts, and I humbly for your vote this Election Day.
